My only disappointment was that it advertises that it can "detect leaks". Upon reading the manual this appears to reference a lock out feature that allows you to lock the valve such that it won't actuate when the tank level drops. This would allow you to check for a tank leak or do other service without shutting the water off, but its still a manual process where my impression was that it was some kind of automatic feature. The same tests could be performed just by shutting the water off. It is functional and far better than the Home Depot part so far.This one is a little more 'adjustable' than most other parts, mainly that you can adjust the bowl fill rate to coincide with the tank fill rate, which will save water. Like other similar fill valves this one has adjustable heights for the stem and the float. The very fact that it works is not in itself enough for the 5 stars, but when I compare it to the other similar parts (which don't work), this soars. . . I recommend this over fluidmaster parts from Home Depot. 18months later: still working flawlessly. |
